I’m a powerful package – academic rigour meets persuasive appeal. I mastered analytic thinking and problem-solving strategies through hardcore philosophical training. Now I’ve entered industry to find meaningful projects where I bring my research, thinking and writing to bear in different contexts and for various purposes.
My skills:
Thinking – I’ve been trained as an academic philosopher which means I’m an expert in critical thinking and reasoning, with the ability to conduct research, engage in abstract thought, and formulate compelling arguments regardless of the topic.
Teaching – I’ve been a teacher since 2007. I started as a private tutor in English and History for high school students, and became a tutorial leader for university courses during my graduate degrees. I have also worked as a lecturer at Wits and UJ, and I was a writing instructor in Canada, where I trained university students to write well.
Writing – As an academically trained individual, I have the technical knowledge to write research papers. I have also developed the skills to write newspaper articles for various publications, while my time as a copywriter in different ad agencies has honed my creative powers. As a result, I can teach writing for a broad range of contexts.
